Finding all four Seasonal Stags in God of War Ragnarok is one of the most rewarding favor quests available in the realm of Vanaheim. Associated with the mythic Yggdrasil tree and monitored by the squirrel Ratatoskr, these majestic creatures require specific quest progress before they can be fed and sent home. Completing this challenge not only rewards players with valuable crafting materials but also unlocks key achievements needed for full game completion.
Unlocking the Stags of the Seasons Favor
Before players can interact with any stag, they must first unlock The Crater region in Vanaheim by completing the Scent of Survival quest. Once in The Crater, speak with Ratatoskr at Sindri's House to obtain the Yggdrasil Leaves item required to feed the stags. Without these magical leaves in your inventory, approaching a stag will yield no progress toward the quest objective.
Keeping up with side quests and progression milestones can be daunting, but keeping track of daily gaming news often reveals helpful tips and walkthroughs for tricky collectibles. Once Ratatoskr equips Kratos with the necessary feed, players can return to Vanaheim to begin tracking down each creature.
Locating the Four Seasonal Stags in Vanaheim
The Stag of Spring is located near the Wishing Well area within The Jungle region of The Crater. To access it, players must clear the dam to restore water flow to the river and navigate through the cavernous paths. The stag sits peacefully on a ledge overlooking the rushing water once the path is opened.
The Stag of Summer can be found in the Plains area of The Crater, situated across a gap that requires daytime navigation to reach. Players must use the Celestial Altars to shift the time of day, allowing access to the zipline and path leading directly to its feeding spot. Approaching carefully ensures you do not trigger nearby wandering enemies beforehand.
The Stag of Autumn rests near the Sinkholes entrance, close to the Mystic Gateway in the eastern section of The Crater. Players can easily spot this creature by travelling through the underground tunnels and using the spear to clear obstructions. It is one of the most accessible stags once the gateway is activated.
The Stag of Winter is hidden within the Overgrown Tower region of the Plains. Reaching it requires altering the time to night to bypass specific botanical hazards and defeat the seasonal phantom guarding the entrance. Once cleared, the stag stands near a vantage point overlooking the valley.
Rewards and Final Steps to Complete the Quest
After feeding each stag using the Yggdrasil Leaves, they will transport back to the realm between realms. Once all four have been fed, return to Sindri's House to speak with Ratatoskr once more. He will reward Kratos with substantial Hacksilver, Shattered Runes, and the coveted Pure Sparkling Crystal required for high-tier armor upgrades.
Completing the favor grants the Pure of Heart trophy, marking full completion of the Yggdrasil Stags challenge. By following the proper region preparation and time-of-day mechanics, players can easily track down all four stags and claim their ultimate rewards.
